Wine Bottles

The tall slender appearance of the Bellissima bottles make them perfect for icewines, meads, liqueurs and more. They hold 375ml, half the amount of a regular wine bottle.
A Bordeaux wine bottle has a high shoulder, like the picture to the right. It may have derived its shape from the fact that older red Bordeaux varietals often have sediment settled at the bottom. When the wine is either decanted or poured into glasses, the shoulder of the bottle helps to trap sediment particles and prevent them from escaping with the good wine. It can contain either red or white wine.
A Burgundy wine bottle has an elegantly sloped shoulder, like the picture to the right. It can contain either red or white wine.
A Champaign bottle has large, thick walls and a tall neck. This shape is ideal for storing sparkling wine under tremendous gas pressure. All Champagne and other sparkling wine bottles have a recess or indentation in the bottom of the bottle to relieve the pressure on the bottom of the bottle.
